While working part time as a Streetworker for ISPN and fulltime as a Case Manager for OIC, James went back to school earning his BA in Community Development at RWU College Unbound with Honors.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : To perform leadership and executive duties in the budgeting, planning, coordinating, implementing and directing the professional medical, mental health, dental and all other clinical services at the Department of Corrections  to supervise and coordinate such services with the Assistant Medical Director, Hospital Administrator and other key administrative staff within the Health Services Division of the Adult Correctional Institutions in order to provide the highest possible standards of medical care to make daily rounds and to do related work as required. As a result of his hard work, dedication, passion, and growing popularity, James ended up being offered a position at OIC as a Case Manager for the Providence Green Pathways Program. From there he began working for OpendoorsRI where he helped men and woman, who were returning to society after being incarcerated, to prepare for and find gainful employment. While incarcerated, James went back to school earning an Associates degree in Psychology with Honors and began to document his experience of transformation in this book: “THE LOST CHILD, a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” Upon release he relocated back to Providence, RI in order to be closer to his family and quickly found work as a StreetWorker for the Institute for the study and practice of Nonviolence were he council’s and mentor’s at risk youth.
